Hair follicles grow individually over a cycle of three different stages—the growing phase (anagen); the regressing phase (catagen); and the resting phase (telogen). Over your series of laser hair removal treatments in Austin, the Diolaze device targets hair in the growth phase. As the roots of the hair follicles are destroyed, this causes hair to grow back more and more slowly over time. That said, new follicles may form and grow to replace those that were previously destroyed, which is why laser hair removal is considered “permanent hair reduction” and requires multiple sessions. So depending on your unique goals, we may recommend annual maintenance treatments to help ensure your results remain permanent.
Yes! One of the many reasons laser hair removal is so popular is because you can continue shaving as needed throughout your entire treatment process, rather than waxing, which requires you to grow out your hair at least a quarter of an inch.
