When Will I See Results?
Immediately after SkinPen, the skin commonly looks pink or red and may feel warm, tight or tender—similar to a mild sunburn. Mild swelling can also occur.
SkinPen has minimal downtime and most patients return to normal activities within a few days. Here’s what to expect day by day:

Day of Treatment
Moderate redness, tight sensation — similar to a mild sunburn. Avoid makeup and additional skincare products.
Day 1
Mild to Moderate Redness
Some swelling and redness may persist. Continue using prescribed post-procedure products only — no makeup.
Day 2
Redness Subsiding
Some redness may still be present. You may begin applying SPF and light makeup as directed by your provider.
Day 3
Almost Back to Normal
Most redness and swelling have cleared. Skin may feel slightly dry or flaky — continue moisturizing.
Day 4
Normal Appearance
Return to normal appearance without makeup. Collagen remodeling continues for weeks and months beneath the surface.

SkinPen is an FDA-cleared microneedling device that creates controlled microchannels in the skin. These temporary openings activate the body’s natural repair response and support gradual remodeling without laser energy or chemical exfoliation.
